This summer we are offering private Glasshouse Rainbow Tea’s. This contact-free experience includes Fynbos chai tea and a platter of our Veld and Sea signature rainbow floral chocolate bars, ready and waiting for you at a beautifully decorated, seasonally inspired tablescape.
Cost is R2400 for a group of up to 10 max and the use of the Glasshouse for up to 3 hours. You are welcome to bring your own additional drinks and picnic. Vouchers valid from Jan 3rd – April 3rd 2022

About the venue:

Nestled in an indigenous plant nursery and situated opposite the Cape Point Nature Reserve, the Veld and Sea Glasshouse is light filled and airy. It is perfect for intimate daytime celebrations – a nature inspired place to meet up, create or dream.
With glass sliding doors on both the south and north sides of the room and windows all round, it is a well-ventilated space. Outside there is a 30sq.m deck with a long table suitable for beverages and buffet, and plenty of cosy nooks in the surrounding shaded gardens.

Season: Summer

Meet up at the beach to greet the low tide for an educational morning learning about intertidal and underwater ingredients. After a coastal forage walk and talk in the rockpools, enjoy a sea inspired picnic on the beach.

Please note: This experience can only take place on certian dates and times to work with new or full moon spring tides.

R600 per person. Min 8 people, max 16.

Season: Spring/Summer

Guests receive fragrant fynbos-chai tea/botanical cocktails on arrival. Immerse yourself in the art of flower crown creation whilst enjoying drinks and floral food snacks in the beautiful Glasshouse. A talk on the history of flower crowns, demos on various techniques plus a walk in the gardens/mountainside is included.

R700 per person. Min 6 people, max 25.

Taste your walk! Guests will be welcomed with fynbos tea and wild flavoured snacks on arrival. After an introduction to a selection of seasonal edible flowers and wild herbs, experience these aromatic and rainbow-coloured botanicals on an exploratory walk in and around the cultivated wild herb gardens and fynbos mountainside. Back at the Glasshouse, enjoy a sit-down seasonal inspired harvest platter meal paired with botanical drinks. This experience can be led over lunchtime or in the afternoon leading up to sunset.

Join us for a celebration of wild flavours on a unique dining experience where the season determines the menu. Dedicated to sustainable cuisine that will tantalize all of your senses, this interactive 5 course meal will be curated and created using fresh seasonal ingredients and locally produced products. Vegetables, herbs and wild foods will be picked and prepared on site from our organic vegetable gardens and prepared by our chefs. Included in the meal will be wild herbs gathered from the mountainside, seaweeds foraged from the nearby coastline, edible flowers picked from the gardens and offerings from our wild pantry that preserve moments and memories in time. Local wines/sodas/botanical drinks will be served.

Join Veld and Sea founder, forager and wild food artist Roushanna Gray on a seasonal inspired, wild food adventure in and around Cape Point. Meet at the V&S headquarters, located at an indigenous plant nursery in the South Peninsula opposite the Nature Reserve, deliciously situated in between the fynbos mountainside and the Atlantic Ocean.  

Guided by Roushanna, you will learn how to create a wildly delicious meal using fresh seasonal ingredients. With the season, tide, moon phase, availability in the gardens and wild determining the menu for the day, discover how nature can be our ingredients guide. No adventure day is the same! Wild flavours and an edible rainbow colour palate could be gathered from the mountainside or seaweeds foraged from the nearby coastline, shellfish dived from the kelp forest floor or edible flowers and seasonal veg and herbs picked fresh from the gardens. The foraged and harvested ingredients will be accompanied by offerings from the V&S kitchen cabins wild pantry that capture moments and memories in time, preserved and pressed from adventures past. This food-art nature inspired experience will culminate with the final step in the full circle of experiential learning: eating your food creations with botanical drinks in the beautiful Glasshouse.

This 5 hour experience includes:  

A wander in the wild to collect and view colour, texture, flavour and food.  

A food creation session, meal and drinks in the Glasshouse.
