Where are you based?

The Veld and Sea HQ is based at the Good Hope Gardens Nursery, along Plateau Rd in Cape Point, Cape Town, South Africa. The Nursery is situated in between Scarborough village and the Cape Point Nature Reserve entrance gate.

What happens when it rains?

Our Glasshouse is fully covered and can accommodate up to 30 guests seated.

 

I have a specific dietary requirement. Will you be able to accommodate me?

We are happy to cater for most dietary requirements provided that you inform us well in advance (ideally at the time of booking, and no less than one week before the event date) so that we can accommodate you. If you have a specific allergy or if your allergy is severe, we request that you bring with you any medicine/inhalers/epi-pens that you may require if your allergy is severe.

 

How many other people will there be?

This is experience dependant. We usually have a maximum of 25 guests per public workshop.

 

Do you cater in other locations?

Yes – we offer away foraging workshops, wild flavour dining experiences, catering and collaborations on request if our schedule allows. 

 

What is your cancellation policy?

Public Workshops: Non-refundable within 72 hours of event. Tickets are non-transferable to other event dates. You may be able to transfer your booking to third parties provided you give us sufficient notice (maximum 2 times).

Postponed event refund: Should we have to postpone a workshop or event from our side, guests have the option to either hold on to their tickets for the new date, or you will have a two week window period from date of notification of postponement to get a refund via our ticketing system.

Cancelled events refund: Should we have to cancel a workshop or event from our side, guests will receive a refund in full or have the option for a credit note that is valid for a year from date of event cancellation. 

Covid/lockdown related private group/venue hire cancellation: 50% of your payment is non-refundable if you cancel your booking. Should you wish to postpone and book a new date, you will need to notify us no later than two weeks prior to the event date and the full payment rolls over to your new event date.

Can I bring my dog/pet?

We love dogs, however there are farm dogs at the nursery and we kindly request leaving your pets at home.

 

I have young children. Can I bring them with me?

Some of our events cater for children to join their parents/guardians, but please bare in mind that these experiences are specifically tailored for adults. If you are interested in a child focused foraging experience, we can recommend some wonderful local experiences.

Is there parking nearby?

There is limited parking at the Nursery parking. On street parking is allowed as long as you are facing the correct direction when parking.

 

Is there public transport/can I Uber there?

There is unfortunately no public transport in the area. If you do Uber here, we suggest arranging a pick up time with your driver as they are scarce in Cape Point and can take up to 40mins to order an Uber.

 

How long is the experience?

A half day experience in total will last approximately 4 hours, but timing differs according to individual experiences.

 

A Quick Note About Corona – (COVID 19)

Our experiences take place outdoors and in the well-ventilated Glasshouse with both North and South facing sliding doors and windows open. Hand sanitisers are in place at the main entrance and at the doors of the Glasshouse. There is also a handwashing basin inside.
